Guns N’ Roses will headline the Sydney round of the V8 Supercar race.

Guns n Roses have announced they will be returning to Australia for the first time since 2007 to help celebrate the return of the Sydney motor race.The event will be held at ANZ Stadium on Saturday, December 4.

They have not ruled out gigs in other cities, but the Telstra 500 will be their only Sydney date, organisers have confirmed.The band’s arrival will follow an extensive tour of Europe as patient audiences finally get to hear live cuts from Chinese Democracy.

Joining Guns N’ Roses at the Sydney race will be skateboard legend Tony Hawke, who will give daily shows over the weekend.The motor race is expected to attract up to 200,000 fans following its successful inaugural outing last year.

 Tickets go on sale from Monday, July 19.
